Need help in filling in details

October 18th, 2005

Now that we’re back online, it would be great if we were 100% accurate and complete too. First item to tackle is the discography. I’ve got what i know of in there but there are track listings, lyrics, tabs, pictures and who knows what funny anecdotes or facts are floating around out there. Please take a look and send anything you’ve got to me – controller at dancehallcrashers dot com. Thanks!

*Update 12/8* – Josh Hounshell sent in 12 albums worth of track listings for the discography including 5 compilation and import CDs we didn’t have listed yet. He is a stud! I challenge any of you with a big DHC collection to try and out do him…

The first album, just self titled, was released on cassette on Moon (US) and on LP on Moon (UK). The tracklisting was all the 1990 tracks on the CD reissue (My Problem through Better Than Anything) and also had a different (1990) recording of DHC as the final track.

You need to update your discography to reflect that Lockjaw was their 2nd album (not their debut!), “Honey” their third, and so on.

Also I remembered that I was slightly wrong above, the LP of the first album was released on Moon Records Europe (matrix prefix MRE) not Moon UK.

I Don’t Wanna Behave is on the soundtrack to Bio-Dome. Track Number 5.

I have some old demo recordings (I think) of the songs Rude Girl, Lipstick, Street Sweeper and DHC, anyone got any ideas where they would be from, maybe an early demo tape or something??

Something missing from the Discography is an interview from ‘97 on the compilation Punk vs. Ska round 2 – track 25.

The vocals on “Time To Ease Up” is by none other than Jason Hammon, who wrote the song. Fat Mike thought it disrupted the flow of the record, so it was discarded for the rerelease on Honest Don’s.

Rude Girl, Listick, Street Sweeper, and DHC are from “Say Cheese”, an early recording (once available only on cassette as far as I am aware) which pre-dates their self-titled release on Moon. The release also contained Skinhead BBQ (titled “Skinhead Bar B.Q.) and Fight All Night. The cover of the cassette and an entry into the discography will be up soon.

    Hey,

I see that one of the major things you need are lyrics. I have a lyrics site for seven artists, and one of those just happens to be Dance Hall Crashers. As you’ll see, the lyrics are close to being accurate for all albums listed…
